The 2016 Campaign

First came eight years of Obama. The mass media loved him uncritically throughout.

Here’s a satirical sampling of how he was portrayed and lionized:

The evident heir to Obama Was Hillary, not so much admired but a foregone conclusion:

Money Talks

Then the 2016 presidential campaign began. Where Obama was loved, Trump was hated. Here’s an online book about that campaign. It’s not a strict diary. It’s not chronological. It’s a grab bag of scenes, ideas, comedy riffs, and plenty of music, pics, and video links trying to do justice to the illogical, irrational environment in which events played out. The only real unifying element is Trump himself, his larger than life persona crashing the (Uni)party that just didn’t know what to do with him, how to stop him, how to dent his growing populist appeal. The tone is primarily furious, in the sense of being frantically busy, now here, now there, dashing from the ridiculous to the sublime and back again. Read the Parts in any order. Read at it, not through it, or however it takes you. It’s deadly serious underneath, but everyone already knows that, so the laughter is frequently dark. And feel free to skip this whole page; there is much more chronology in the content of the rest of this site.

All the files are linked from a post at Instapunk Returns titled ‘The Best Book on the Trump Phenomenon.’
